Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutherford slips under a jab.
Rutherford is looking to counter with a body kick.
Altare feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Rutherfords jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
The crowd cheers as Rutherford lands an impressive looking overhand right. Altare doesn't seem phased though.
Rutherford fails with an attempt to clinch.
Altare feints a counter leg kick.
Rutherford wants to clinch up but Altare keeps it at a distance.
Altare just misses with a punch to the body.
We've been informed that Altare has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Rutherford connects with a leg kick. Altare looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Rutherford looks to throw the jab but Altare is out of range.
Rutherford closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
John Altare seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Altare throws a shot from downtown. Rutherford moves away and avoids it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Altare throws an overhand right that lands on Rutherford's shoulder, as Rutherford tries to avoid the shot.
Altare takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Rutherford tries to close the distance and clinch up but Altare swats him away and circles back towards the center.

It seemed like Altare was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Rutherford cracks Altare with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Altare looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Rutherford finish him?
Altare is rocked!
Altare switches off momentarily and Rutherford cracks him with a monster right hand! Altare topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Rutherford dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Rutherford!
