The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masotti scores with a nice strike.

Masotti closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Pickton wants a takedown.

Pickton gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Pickton is stalling here. Masotti is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Pickton seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Masotti has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Pickton tries to bench press Masotti off him but Masotti keeps the position.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Masotti decides to stand back up. Masotti steps back and let's Pickton get back to his feet.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pickton has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Masotti stuffs the takedown attempt from Pickton. Pickton gets slowly back to his feet.
Masotti tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Pickton is able to avoid easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pickton pivots, looking for a leg kick but Masotti is out of range and Pickton settles back down.

Pickton is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Masotti is just riding it out for now. Pickton eventually gives up the hold.

Masotti has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Pickton is working away from the top position though.

Pickton is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Masotti is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Robert Pickton really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that KAISER logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
