PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robert Pickton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacob Koch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 6 - 3, fighting out of Tokyo, Robert Pickton!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Jacob Koch!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Sam Margolis and Chris Edwards.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koch tries a head kick but it misses.
Pickton throws a lazy right hand but Koch sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Good standup being displayed there by Koch as he connects with a hook.
Koch fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Pickton is out of range.
Pickton shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Koch defends it nicely.
Koch works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Pickton throws a head kick that misses.
Koch throws a lazy uppercut
and Pickton counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Pickton takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Pickton shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Koch sprawls well. Koch wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Pickton gets slowly back to his feet.
Pickton closes this distance looking for a takedown but Koch circles away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Robert Pickton. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Pickton drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Koch manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Pickton has Koch in his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's time! Pickton's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Koch, as that shot connected.
Pickton throws a half hearted mid kick.
Koch throws out a counter right but Pickton avoids it with no problem.
Pickton shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Koch as he avoids it easily.
Koch is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Pickton appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Pickton misses with a lunging right hand
and Koch counters with a stiff right hand.
Koch connects with the punch.

Pickton throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Koch was covering up waiting for the punch and Pickton finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Koch pulls Pickton in to control the position.
Pickton postures up.
Pickton tries to free his leg and advance position but Koch is retaining full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Pickton is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Koch is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Koch has escaped and now he's on top!

Pickton lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Koch has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Pickton tries to stand but Koch is controlling from the bottom.
Pickton postures up in Koch's guard and throws a big left but Koch blocks it.

Pickton wants to control from the top but Koch keeps moving.
Pickton throws an elbow that misses. Koch uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Pickton's guard. Nice move by Koch!

Pickton tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Koch has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Pickton is looking to improve his position but Koch isn't that keen on the idea.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Pickton tries to hold on but Koch postures up.
Pickton keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacob Koch showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Pickton seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pickton darts in looking for a takedown but Koch gets double underhooks and turns Pickton into the cage.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Koch! But no joy.
Koch throws a hook to the side of Pickton's head but Pickton sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Koch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Pickton.

Pickton is really struggling to control Koch but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Koch throws a low kick, looking for Pickton's leg but Pickton calmly moves out of range.

Pickton tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Koch swivels and escapes.

Robert Pickton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Koch thuds his right hand into Pickton's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Koch buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Pickton takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Koch lands a jab.

Koch closes the distance and clinches.

Jacob Koch comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Koch winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Jacob Koch tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
Robert Pickton was interviewed post fight and said 'This is most likely they last fight of my Career, Id like to thank the fans, my sponsors and my manager Alexander Biro for this opportunity that will last throughout my lifetime. Bobby Butcher will never make it anywhere in this world and should retire while hes ahead'.
