Beast escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hale gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Hale postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hale seems to be working for a kimura but Beast defends the submission attempt.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Beast looks to land a body kick but Hale moved away.
Hale half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Hale throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Beast.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hale.
Hale takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Beast lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Beast is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Hale throws a body punch but Beast moves out of range.

Beast takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Beast connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Hale sizes up Beast with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

and Hale decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Beast's guard.

This has been an exciting period of action!
