PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Paullly Pullman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dom Willis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Paullly Pullman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dom Willis!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pullman throws a combination that misses

and Willis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Pullman has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Willis is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Willis wants a takedown but no success here.

Willis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Pullman swings for the body but Willis moves out of range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Willis.
Willis tries to bum rush Pullman with a series of wild strikes but Pullman uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Willis's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Willis goes for a takedown attempt but Pullman pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Paullly Pullman has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dom Willis.

Pullman has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Pullman throws a strike but Willis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Pullman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Willis has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Pullman clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Pullman is trying to get back to his feet. He's worked up on to his knees and now he's on his feet with his head on the canvas, trying to shake Willis off. It looks like it's working - Willis slides off, much to his dismay, and we're back to standing! Pullman displaying calm under pressure there.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Pullman shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Willis as he avoids it easily.
Left hook, right uppercut from Willis.
Pullman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Willis tries to avoid it but Pullman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Willis to the ground. Willis escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Willis looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dom Willis will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Pullman tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Pullman throws a body punch but Willis moves out of range.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Willis goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Pullman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Willis moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Willis avoids the body shot from Pullman.
Pullman moves in looking to clinch but Willis pushes him off.
Pullman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Willis throws a push kick but Pullman slaps the foot to one side.
Pullman feinted with a counter takedown.
Willis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Pullman circles away quickly and effectively.
Willis cracks Pullman with a right hand to the side of the head.

Willis shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Pullman is trying to defend but Willis finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Pullman has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Willis is on him like a limpet, forcing Pullman back against the cage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Willis takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Donk. Willis catches Pullman right on the button with a cross.
Willis stalks Pullman and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Pullman's face. Pullman staggers backwards, shaken.
Willis has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Pullman.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Pullman lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Willis has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Willis and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Pullman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Willis is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Pullman to the mat. Pullman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

enabling Willis to counter with a crisp jab.

Pullman misses with a low kick as Willis jumps back.
Pullman throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Willis's waist but Willis gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Pullman off to one side.

Paullly Pullman has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Pullman chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Willis can pounce on him.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

I've got Willis winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
