Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ken Miller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronald Griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Miller's entrance music is 2pac - Im A Souljah. A fine choice. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ken Miller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ronald Griffin!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Columbo Gatti and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miller closes the distance and clinches up with Griffin, looking for a takedown. Miller pushes Griffin against the cage but Griffin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown but Miller manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Griffin's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Griffin stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Griffin wants it to stay on the feet.
Griffin lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Miller shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Griffin sprawls well. Griffin wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Miller gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ken Miller. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Miller shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Griffin defends it nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown. Miller tries to sprawl out of it but Griffin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Miller manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Miller lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Miller is fighting to break Griffin's control of his arms but Griffin is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

We've been hearing that Miller has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Griffin looking to hit a scissor sweep but Miller is one step ahead there.
Griffin has momentary wrist control but Miller slips an elbow through the middle.
Miller not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miller wants to get up but he can't break Griffin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Griffin fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Miller wants to clinch.
Miller shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Griffin pinned against the cage. Griffin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Griffin looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Miller is fending him off so far but Griffin persists. Nope, Miller circles away and we're back to standing.
It looked like Miller was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Griffin.
Miller stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Miller wants it to stay on the feet.

A close round but Ronald Griffin will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Miller misses with an attempted mid kick.
Griffin with the counter takedown but Miller avoids it easily.

Griffin feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Miller has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Griffin can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Griffin accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Miller escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Griffin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Griffin looks for a takedown but Miller sprawls well.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Miller.
Griffin defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Miller.
Griffin with the counter takedown but Miller avoids it easily.
Griffin tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Miller swivels and escapes.
Miller tries to clinch but Griffin is having none of it.
Griffin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.

Miller pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Griffin stuffs the takedown.

Miller tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Griffin was well out of range. Poor timing from Miller.

Ken Miller has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ronald Griffin.
Griffin takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.

Griffin shoots in and bounces Miller off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Griffin wants to control from the top but Miller keeps moving.

Miller makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Miller.
Griffin tries to free his leg and advance position but Miller is retaining full guard.

Griffin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Griffin misses with a double jab

and Miller counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Griffin is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Miller presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Miller is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Griffin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Miller is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Griffin tries to pull guard but Miller holds him up against the cage and eventually Griffin drops back down to his feet.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Griffin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Miller looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Griffin is looking to take a break and control but Miller is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Griffin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Miller is trying to get back to full guard.

Miller is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Griffin pulls his head out easily.
Miller is not content to let Griffin control the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Griffin is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Miller has managed to free his arm - good work.
Miller moves into full guard.

Miller looking for a guillotine here but Griffin defends easily.

Griffin drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Miller manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Griffin has Miller in his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Miller wants to control from the top but Griffin keeps moving.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ken Miller.
I think Miller has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Ken Miller decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
