Colossus tries to counter by clinching up but Karelin breaks away and moves out of range.

Karelin tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Colossus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Karelin.

We've been informed that Karelin has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Karelin looks to land a left hand but Colossus moved out of range nicely.
Colossus tries to clinch but Karelin is having none of it.
Karelin throws out a counter right but Colossus avoids it with no problem.

Colossus throws a series of punches but Karelin avoids them all with ease.

Karelin lands a left and a right that sends Colossus crashing to the canvas! Karelin dives into mount looking to finish!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Karelin loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Colossus scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Karelin land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Karelin stands and salutes the crowd.

Aleksanteri Karelin decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
