Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Tito Mats (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Prossilis Ippokratis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tito Mats!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Prossilis Ippokratis!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ippokratis feints and as Mats raises his hands in defense, Ippokratis changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Ippokratis gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Ippokratis gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mats counters with a nice body shot.
Ippokratis just misses with a punch to the body.
Mats really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Ippokratis displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Mats lands with a kick to the ribs.
Mats misses with a series of wild punches.
Ippokratis swinging wildly here.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Ippokratis clinches up with Mats and pushes him back against the cage.
Ippokratis fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Mats is working for takedown but Ippokratis is calmly controlling the position for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mats has Ippokratis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ippokratis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Ippokratis wants to break the clinch but can't.

Mats pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
No luck for Ippokratis with that takedown attempt.
Mats shoots in but Ippokratis avoids the takedown attempt easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Mats. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ippokratis fails to land the takedown.

Ippokratis rushes Mats and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Mats drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ippokratis is fighting to break Mats's control of his arms but Mats is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Mats looking to hit a scissor sweep but Ippokratis is one step ahead there.
Mats pulls Ippokratis in close to prevent any damage.
Ippokratis preventing the sweep.
Mats is trying to keep Ippokratis in close.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mats looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mats looking to control.
Ippokratis trying to control but Mats is working from the bottom.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ippokratis tries to clinch there but Mats circles away.

Ippokratis throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Mats tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ippokratis is in Mats's guard.

Mats has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ippokratis is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ippokratis wants to break the clinch but can't.
Ippokratis jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Mats walks away with a smile on his face. Ippokratis gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Mats gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Come on Ippokratis - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Mats stops a takedown attempt from Ippokratis.
Mats taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Ippokratis looking to stall.
Ippokratis tries to circle away but Mats has him pinned against the cage.
Ippokratis is trying to maintain a safe position but Mats gets an underhook and turns Ippokratis into the cage.
Ippokratis gets underhooks to prevent Mats's takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Tito Mats will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mats stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Mats wants it to stay on the feet.
Mats fails with the takedown.

Ippokratis closes the distance and clinches.
Ippokratis tries for a takedown. No joy.
Mats slowing the pace effectively.

Mats breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mats shoots in for a takedown but Ippokratis shows good takedown defense.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mats clinches with his opponent.

Ippokratis pulls guard.
Ippokratis is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mats is controlling him.

Ippokratis kicks Mats off and gets to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ippokratis stuffs the takedown attempt from Mats. Mats gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tito Mats. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Ippokratis fails with an attempt to clinch.

Ippokratis closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Mats to the mat! Mats manages to get full guard.

Mats is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Mats is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Mats keeping moving, preventing Ippokratis from controlling successfully.

Ippokratis controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Mats throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Ippokratis escapes and throws Mats's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Ippokratis tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mats is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Mats is defending against the submission attempts here by Ippokratis.
Mats tries to get to full guard but Ippokratis has control of the leg.

Ippokratis is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mats sees it coming and defends easily.
Prossilis Ippokratis has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mats is not content to let Ippokratis control the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Mats is in trouble now - Ippokratis has advanced to mount!
Ippokratis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Ippokratis wants to control the pace but Mats is squirming around nicely.
Ippokratis is landing with some decent strikes but Mats is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ippokratis scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Mats is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Prossilis Ippokratis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Ippokratis will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Mats is looking for a counter combo.
Ippokratis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Mats was well out of range. Poor timing from Ippokratis.

Mats closes the distance and pushes Ippokratis back into the cage.
Ippokratis prevents the takedown attempt.
Mats's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Ippokratis stops a takedown attempt from Mats.
Ippokratis tries to pull guard but Mats holds him up against the cage and eventually Ippokratis drops back down to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mats's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Ippokratis gets a takedown into half guard.
Ippokratis not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ippokratis is pressing down on Mats's thigh, looking to free his foot. Mats is holding on for now.
Ippokratis is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Mats is not content to let Ippokratis control the position.
Mats moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ippokratis postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Mats is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Ippokratis throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Mats escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Ippokratis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Mats working for a triangle but Ippokratis defends it easily.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Ippokratis advances position into side control!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ippokratis is looking to take a break and control but Mats is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Mats tries to strike from the bottom but misses.
Mats bucks up and tries to throw Ippokratis off but instead Ippokratis has got his back!

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Mats just trying to survive but Ippokratis is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.

Ippokratis is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Ippokratis struggling to keep hold of the position.

Ippokratis has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Ippokratis trying desperately to keep hold of the dominant position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Ippokratis has the hooks in. Mats is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

And that's the end of the fight!
Prossilis Ippokratis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ippokratis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
