Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Haigh (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jon Monroe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Haigh might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Prayer of the Refugee by Rise Against . Monroe has chosen Simple Man - Lynyrd Skynyrd as his entrance music. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

25 - 20 - 1, fighting out of New York, John Haigh!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
27 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Jon Monroe!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Yukihiro Shimada and Yuuki Gou.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haigh takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Monroe shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Haigh eats them both and turns towards Monroe to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Haigh throws a hook but Monroe avoids it easily.
Monroe blocks a jab.
Haigh getting the better of the striking in that exchange.
Monroe fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Haigh looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Haigh takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Haigh throws a right and a left that both miss.
Monroe doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Jon Monroe seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Haigh misses with a two punch combination.
We've been told by Haigh's head coaches at H-13 Alpha Elite Training that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Monroe swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Haigh.
Monroe swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Monroe throws a sloppy head kick and Haigh moves out of range easily.
Monroe throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Monroe scores with a three punch combo!
Haigh darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Monroe throws a combination. Haigh tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Monroe takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Monroe takes one on the button.
Haigh misses with a wild combination.
Monroe scores with a crisp jab that stopped Haigh in his tracks.
A combination from Monroe does no damage.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Monroe displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Haigh throws out the jab.
Haigh shoots in but Monroe avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jon Monroe is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Monroe throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Haigh's head.
Haigh slips under a jab.
Haigh slips a jab and a cross from Monroe.
Haigh blocks a head kick by Monroe.
Haigh circles to his right before unloading a perfect head kick! Monroe drops to the canvas, hurt badly! Haigh follows Monroe to the ground and unloads with a series of strikes that force the referee to step in and end the fight! This one is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). John Haigh!
