Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jake Ingram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Conor McGregor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Conor McGregor has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jake Ingram!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Conor McGregor!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Cecil Peabody and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGregor throws a lazy head kick

and Ingram counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ingram.

McGregor has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ingram has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
McGregor is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Ingram to keep the fight standing.
McGregor blocks an uppercut.

Ingram jumps guard.
McGregor trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Ingram keeping moving, preventing McGregor from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

McGregor is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Ingram is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Ingram has escaped and now he's on top!

McGregor has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

McGregor working for submissions but it's allowed Ingram to get to half guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

McGregor wants to control but Ingram is keeping busy.
McGregor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Ingram wants to pass the guard but McGregor is defending well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
McGregor tries for a takedown but Ingram circles away easily

and Ingram counters by moving into the clinch.
Ingram tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. McGregor smiles and moves away.
McGregor takes a swing at Ingram's ribcage but misses.
McGregor tries for a takedown but Ingram sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jake Ingram has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Conor McGregor.
Ingram misses with a wild combination.
McGregor is looking to clinch but Ingram is avoiding it.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from McGregor lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ingram has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ingram and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
McGregor looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and Ingram counters by clinching up.

Ingram kicks off McGregor and gets to his feet.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ingram misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
McGregor tries to clinch but Ingram moves out of range.
Ingram misses with a head kick.
McGregor shoots in but no luck this time.
Ingram is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from McGregor.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jake Ingram dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ingram throws a leg kick but McGregor moved away.
McGregor tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Ingram defends well and McGregor ends up having to push Ingram into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Ingram shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Ingram showed some decent athleticism there.
Ingram is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McGregor is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
McGregor shoots for a takedown but Ingram saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
McGregor moves in looking to clinch but Ingram pushes him off.
McGregor looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ingram is fending him off so far but McGregor persists. Nope, Ingram circles away and we're back to standing.

McGregor darts in looking for a takedown but Ingram gets double underhooks and turns McGregor into the cage.
Ingram swats away the attempt to clinch by McGregor.

Ingram lands a head kick. McGregor smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
McGregor shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ingram as he avoids it easily.
McGregor is breathing heavily.

Ingram clinches up with McGregor and pushes him back against the cage.

Ingram escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
McGregor shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ingram sprawls well. Ingram wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. McGregor gets slowly back to his feet.

McGregor is looking to land body kicks.

Ingram defends well against a solid takedown attempt from McGregor.
As McGregor tries to get set, Ingram tries to push him back and clinch up but McGregor manages to avoid the attempt.
McGregor throws the kick towards the body but Ingram avoids it.

McGregor moves into range and clinches up with Ingram.

Ingram has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics McGregor uses from the top position.
McGregor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Nice takedown defense from Ingram. No joy for McGregor on that attempt.
Ingram tries to counter by clinching up but McGregor breaks away and moves out of range.
Ingram really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

McGregor unleashes a big counter combination but Ingram bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.

and Ingram holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
McGregor is trying to push Ingram away but Ingram has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

McGregor jumps guard and drags Ingram to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
McGregor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
McGregor is striking but Ingram is not phased and passes to half guard.
McGregor looks like he's trying to stand up.

Ingram is looking for a kimura here.

Ingram is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. McGregor doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ingram.

Still in half guard, Ingram seems content to control.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
McGregor wants to improve his position but Ingram is controlling well.
McGregor regains full guard. Nicely done.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jake Ingram.
Well Ingram has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
