Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mathias Vini (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sharky Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shark is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Stand My Ground. Mathias Vini could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Sharky Shark's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mathias Vini!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sharky Shark!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vini takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Vini walks into a left hand.
Vini has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Amstadam MMA traning center in the buildup to the fight.
Shark misses with a body kick.
Vini tries to clinch there but Shark circles away.
Shark swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
We've been informed that Shark has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Vini is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Shark throws a lazy right hand but Vini sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Vini tries to counter with a takedown but Shark is quick to defend against it.
Nice sprawl there from Shark as Vini shoots in.
Vini wants to clinch up but Shark keeps it at a distance.
Shark scores with a jab. Vini acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Vini blocks the body kick.
Shark is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Vini.
Vini has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Shark finds it's way round the side to connect with Vini's head.
Shark sizes up Vini with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Shark throws out a loose jab but Vini uses good head movement to avoid it.
Shark scores with a jab. Vini acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Shark feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vinis jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Vini moves into the clinch.
Vini blocking some punches.
Shark misses with a hook to the ribs.
Shark stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Vini blocking some punches.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Shark.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Shark as Vini tries to tie him up.
Shark has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Vini pushes Shark back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Shark.
A nice right hand lands inside from Shark.
Vini blocking some punches.

Vini breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Vini shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Vini throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Vini is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Shark has managed to free his arm - good work.
Shark gets full guard.
Vini might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Shark looking for a sweep. Not yet Shark, not yet.
Vini looking to pass the guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shark trying to keep a closed guard but Vini is proving a slippery customer.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shark working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Vini.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Vini preventing the sweep.
Vini trying to control but Shark is working from the bottom.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Vini tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vini has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Shark.
Vini tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Shark manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Shark connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Vini momentarily.
Vini lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Sharky Shark seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shark swings for the body but Vini moves out of range.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Vini shoots for a takedown but Shark saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Shark, as that shot connected.
Vini throws a nice looking combination but Shark bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Shark throws a body punch but Vini moves out of range.
Shark is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Shark.
Vini wants to clinch but Shark slips to the side
and Shark counters with an outside leg kick.
Shark connects with a single shot there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shark scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Vini has a takedown stuffed.
Shark only half commits to the counter leg kick.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mathias Vini. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Vini on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Vini slips a jab from Shark.
Nice straight punches there by Shark. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Shark.
Vini shoots in looking for a takedown but Shark manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Vini's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shark throws a counter combo.
Vini doesn't manage to clinch there - Shark circles away.
Vini drops his hands momentarily and Shark takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Vini moves out of range of the body kick from Shark.
Vini shoots in for a double leg but Shark sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Vini looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Vini tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Shark swivels and escapes.

Shark drops Vini with a big left hand and mounts him. Vini is in big trouble!


Vini is rocked!


It looks like Mathias Vini has been cut.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Shark softens up his opponent with a couple of shots there and then CRACK! One massive shot lands there and Vini is out cold! Shark jumps to his feet and celebrates on the cage with the fans, who are, quite frankly, going absolutely mental!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sharky Shark!
During a confident post fight interview, Sharky Shark thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
