The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksandr Martynov.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Klimov listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Klimov works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kriel will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A combination from Kriel does no damage.
Kriel closes this distance looking for a takedown but Klimov circles away.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Vova Klimov has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Piet Kriel.
Kriel changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Klimov fights it off and pushes away nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Kriel working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Kriel stands up from Klimov's guard - Kriel perhaps looking for a knockout.
Kriel shoots in and drives through. Klimov sprawls well.
Klimov is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.

Kriel drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Klimov is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Kriel wants to control but Klimov is keeping him busy.

Klimov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kriel swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Kriel goes for a takedown attempt but Klimov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Klimov lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Kriel backwards.

Kriel tries to get into range but Klimov steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Kriel! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Klimov scores the big KO victory!

Vova Klimov decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
