Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sergei Dragunov!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Wesley Smith and Chris Downing.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dragunov thows a left - swing and a miss!
Turnbull misses with a lunging right hand
and Dragunov counters with a stiff right hand.
Turnbull looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dragunov is fending him off so far but Turnbull persists. Nope, Dragunov circles away and we're back to standing.
Dragunov connects with a body shot that sends Turnbull's belly button to the back.
Turnbull blocks a leg kick.
Turnbull has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Dragunov.
Dragunov throws a chopping leg kick but Turnbull manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Dragunov ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Turnbull moves away.
A nice leg kick lands there from Dragunov.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dragunov is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Turnbull.
Turnbull displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Dragunov throws out the jab.
Nice shot lands for Turnbull.
Turnbull chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Dragunov can pounce on him.

Dragunov looks to land a left hand but Turnbull moved out of range nicely.

and Dragunov counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Turnbull cracks the inside of Dragunov's front leg.
Nice defenses there by Dragunov.
Dragunov throws a combination that misses
and Turnbull counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dragunov stuns Turnbull with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Mark Turnbull seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dragunov pivots, looking for a leg kick but Turnbull is out of range and Dragunov settles back down.
It looked like Turnbull was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Dragunov.
Turnbull misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Dragunov.
Turnbull backing away here, and Dragunov unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Dragunov just misses with a punch to the body.
Turnbull shoots for a double leg takedown but Dragunov sprawls well. He's pushed Turnbull's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Turnbull forces Dragunov back against the cage and clinches.
Turnbull misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Dragunov escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Nice takedown defense from Dragunov. No joy for Turnbull on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Turnbull. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dragunov throws a sloppy head kick
and Turnbull connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dragunov buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Turnbull keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Turnbull jabs at Dragunov's body.
Turnbull connects with a jab.
Dragunov keeps the fight on the outside.
A nice side step and Dragunov releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Dragunov throws a leg kick

and Turnbull counters with a crisp right hand that drops Dragunov! Turnbull lets Dragunov back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Dragunov is rocked!
Dragunov drops his hands momentarily. Turnbull doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Dragunov staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Dragunov doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Mark Turnbull!
