Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dado Mata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mau Cherry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mata kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Stranglehold. Mau Cherry will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cherry uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Mata.
Mata thuds his right hand into Cherry's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Cherry walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Cherry thows a left - swing and a miss!
Mata looks to throw the jab but Cherry is out of range.
Cherry dodges the punch combination from Mata.
Mata cracks Cherry with a right hand to the side of the head.
Cherry uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mata.
Mata misses with a series of wild punches.
Donk. Mata catches Cherry right on the button with a cross.
We've been hearing reports that Mata has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Mata throws a right and a left that both miss.
Cherry throws a body shot but no joy.

Mata looks to score with a jab to the body but Cherry is just out of range.
Cherry avoids the body shot from Mata.

Mata closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cherry's guard.
Cherry looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mata wants to control from the top but Cherry keeps moving.
Cherry avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Mata trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Cherry throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.
Mata slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Cherry tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Mata wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Mata tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mata has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Cherry misses with an elbow from the bottom.

Mata has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Cherry is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mata yanks on the arm and Cherry is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mata.
