Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gordan McGreggor!
The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Ivan Kurochkin and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McGreggor takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Cavallotto looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for McGreggor!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
McGreggor is not content to let Cavallotto control the position.

McGreggor tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Cavallotto presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
McGreggor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
McGreggor really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cavallotto. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
McGreggor is looking to get to half guard.
McGreggor wants to control but Cavallotto is having none of it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Cavallotto really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Cavallotto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as McGreggor is looking to escape.
Cavallotto is really struggling to control McGreggor but he's trying to hold on to the position.
McGreggor is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

McGreggor gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

McGreggor pushes Cavallotto off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Cavallotto jumps guard but McGreggor turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
McGreggor tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Cavallotto just stands there and leans against the cage.

Cavallotto wants to control from the top but McGreggor keeps moving.

McGreggor looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Cavallotto has picked McGreggor up and slammed him! McGreggor can't keep hold of the triangle and Cavallotto manages to pass to side control!
Cavallotto wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGreggor keeps working.

Cavallotto decides to stand up, so the ref orders McGreggor to his feet.
Cavallotto is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that McGreggor can do to turn this around?
McGreggor scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

McGreggor throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cavallotto was covering up waiting for the punch and McGreggor finishes the takedown easily into guard.
McGreggor is breathing heavily.
Cavallotto is trying to keep McGreggor in close.

Cavallotto pushes McGreggor off and gets back to his feet.
McGreggor catches Cavallotto with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This has been an exciting period of action!

McGreggor has Cavallotto up against the cage in a clinch.

McGreggor is trying to pull guard but Cavallotto turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Cavallotto is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McGreggor defends it well.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cavallotto passes to side control.
Cavallotto content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Cavallotto wants to lay and pray for a moment but McGreggor keeps working.
McGreggor tries to bench press Cavallotto off him but Cavallotto keeps the position.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Gordan McGreggor showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

McGreggor is looking to get back to his feet here but Cavallotto is keeping cool and he's managed to take McGreggor's back.

Cavallotto is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. McGreggor knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften McGreggor for a finish.
You can see the frustration on McGreggor's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

McGreggor takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Cavallotto has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, McGreggor has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

McGreggor tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Cavallotto has hold of McGreggor's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and McGreggor manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
McGreggor is in all sorts of trouble here.

Cavallotto throws some wild stikes that McGreggor manages to avoid easily.
McGreggor is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
McGreggor manages to regain half guard. Good work.
McGreggor trying to hold on to Cavallotto's head to control him but Cavallotto postures up.
Cavallotto is looking to take a break and control but McGreggor is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
McGreggor scores with a nice head shot.
Cavallotto tries to clinch but McGreggor moves out of range.
McGreggor is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

McGreggor feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
McGreggor wants to stand but Cavallotto has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Cavallotto tries to land a sweep but no joy.
McGreggor must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Francesco Cavallotto is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Cavallotto lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Francesco Cavallotto showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Cavallotto has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
