The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai clobbers Northcutt with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Sakurai lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

Northcutt has closed the distance and engaged Sakurai in a clinch.
Northcutt displaying some good clinch control by pressing Sakurai up against the cage.
Northcutt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Sakurai to keep the fight standing.

Sakurai escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Northcutt looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Northcutt is rocked!
Northcutt moves in looking to clinch but Sakurai pushes him off.
Northcutt is still on wobbly legs! Can Sakurai finish him?
Hideo Sakurai seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Northcutt switches off momentarily and Sakurai cracks him with a monster right hand! Northcutt topples backwards and makes a semi conscious attempt to cover up, as Sakurai dives in to land one more shot, before the referee has time to call the fight. What a finish by Sakurai!
