PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rian MacFarlane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ren Naga-Wing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). MacFarlane comes to the cage accompanied by The Foggy Dew. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ren Naga-Wing!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Cecil Peabody and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacFarlane throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
The fighters circle momentarily. MacFarlane darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.


It looks like Ren Naga-Wing has been cut.
A nice leg kick lands there from MacFarlane.
Naga-Wing misses with a looping left.
MacFarlane takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
MacFarlane misses with a wild body shot.

Naga-Wing feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

We've been hearing good reports from MacFarlane's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

MacFarlane has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Naga-Wing is working away from the top position though.

Naga-Wing is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, MacFarlane is hurt! He's hurt bad - Naga-Wing fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save MacFarlane from any more punishment! Congratulations to Naga-Wing! Great finish!
