The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Escobar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Machado is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Escobar off and has taken his back!
Machado doesn't have the hooks in and Escobar manages to turn into his guard.
Escobar wants to pass the guard but Machado is keeping the position.
Escobar's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Machado is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Escobar defends it well.
Escobar is looking for a sweep. Machado is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Machado is trying to control the action in half guard but Escobar is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Machado has managed to slip his arm under Escobar's chin. This could be all over... yep, Escobar is tapping out! Submission win for Machado.
