Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Erik Meen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Miguel Castillion!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Joseph Jones and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Castillion misses with a wild body shot.
Meen appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Castillion looks to score with a jab to the body but Meen is just out of range.
Castillion moves away from the strike by Meen.
Castillion swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Meen.


It looks like Erik Meen has been cut.
Meen takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Castillion uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Meen.
Meen throws a big shot that misses.
Meen backing away here, and Castillion unleashes a leg kick that just misses.
Castillion looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Meen throws a quick counter kick to the body but Castillion avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters circle momentarily. Castillion darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Meen keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Meen moves away from the strike by Castillion.
Castillion connects with an inside leg kick.
Meen lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Meen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Castillion, pushing him back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Castillion takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Castillion is pushing Meen up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

As Castillion tries to get set, Meen tries to push him back and clinch up but Castillion manages to avoid the attempt.
Meen motions for Castillion to come forward. Meen throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Castillion swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.

Meen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Castillion.

Castillion tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Castillion throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Meen.
Castillion keeps the fight on the outside.
Castillion throws out a counter right but Meen avoids it with no problem.
Castillion throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Meen connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Meen lands a jab to the nose.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Meen wants to clinch.
Castillion walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Meen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Castillion manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Meen's jab looks to have found its range, popping Castillion under the eye.

Meen uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Castillion.
Castillion has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

letting Castillion counter with a right hand.

Castillion lands a leg kick that knocks Meen off balance momentarily.
Castillion throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

Meen avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Meen tries to clinch but Castillion is having none of it.

Meen has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Meen shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Castillion keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.


Erik Meen's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
