Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Aaron Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Gamble (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Max Gamble!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Gamble tries to pull guard but Alvarez won't allow it.
Gamble pushes Alvarez back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Gamble prevents the takedown attempt.
Alvarez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Gamble pulls him back up using the underhooks.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Alvarez enables Gamble to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Alvarez manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Gamble not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Gamble wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.

Alvarez manages to work his way to half guard, despite Gamble's best efforts.
Gamble seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Alvarez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Alvarez dives in for a single leg takedown but Gamble sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Despite the aggression on Gamble's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close round but I would say that Aaron Alvarez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Gamble is looking to clinch but Alvarez is avoiding it.
Alvarez seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Gamble connects with an inside leg kick.

Gamble closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Alvarez to the mat! Alvarez manages to get full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Alvarez is on top in guard.

It looks like Aaron Alvarez has been cut.
Alvarez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gamble's waist but Gamble gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Alvarez off to one side.

Gamble really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Alvarez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gamble got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gamble has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarez's legs - danger averted.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Gamble.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Gamble swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Gamble throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alvarez was covering up waiting for the punch and Gamble finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Alvarez has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gamble has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Alvarez has Gamble pressed against the cage, preventing Gamble from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Gamble cracks a nice hook into Alvarez's ribs.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Alvarez manages to stand up with Gamble still on his back. Eventually Gamble drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.

Alvarez moves out of range as Gamble throws a body kick.
Alvarez tries to counter with a takedown but Gamble is quick to defend against it.
Gamble shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alvarez pinned against the cage. Alvarez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Gamble shoots in and bounces Alvarez off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gamble with a flurry of punches that miss.

Alvarez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
