PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Dery Till (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claus Voormann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Voormann's choice of entrance music: Beastie Boys-Sabotage. Claus Voormann will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Claus Voormann!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paul Aken and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Till misses with a takedown attempt - Voormann sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Voormann bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Voormann has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Till tries to sprawl but Voormann drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Till looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Voormann lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Voormann is looking for a kimura but Till is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Voormann to get the leverage.
Till gets back to full guard.
Voormann must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Till has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Voormann can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Voormann lands a couple of digs.

Voormann avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Till is looking for a triangle but Voormann pushes his legs off easily.
Voormann postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Till working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voormann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voormann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Till looking for subs off his back but Voormann has passed one foot through into half guard.
Till is breathing heavily.
Voormann seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Till is pressing down on Voormann's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Till working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Voormann has passed into half guard!
Voormann is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Till is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Voormann pulls his head out easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Voormann slips a nice elbow through Till's hands, connecting with Till's forehead.

Voormann is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Voormann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Till has a hand on Voormann's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Voormann takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Till tries to improve his position but Voormann has taken his back! Voormann has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Till tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Voormann pushes Till away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
