The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cierzniak on the wrong end of a nice jab.

and Nog counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cierzniak won't be happy with that.

Cierzniak throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nog shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Cierzniak pinned against the cage. Cierzniak gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Nog feints and as Cierzniak raises his hands in defense, Nog changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nog accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nog drops back looking for a leg! Cierzniak is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Cierzniak manages to kick Nog off! Nog jumps back into Cierzniak's guard.

Nog has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Nog thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Cierzniak told us pre-fight that he has been working on his escapes in training. Let's see if he can call on some of his new skills to get back to his feet.
Nog pushes down on Cierzniak's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Nog is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
