The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banks stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Perez Jr throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Banks counters with a lovely straight right hand!
A slow jab from Banks misses its intended target.
Perez Jr wants to counter with a clinch but Banks pushes him away.
Perez Jr throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Roddy Banks seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banks jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Banks avoids the head kick by Perez Jr.
Banks throws a big counter combination but Perez Jr scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Banks scores with a sloppy right hand. Perez Jr should have avoided that one.

Banks connects with a combination that backs up Perez Jr into the cage. Banks lands a flurry of punches that gets past Perez Jr's guard. Perez Jr is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Banks bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.
