The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brock.

Ventura throws a body punch but Brock moves out of range.

and Ventura counters with a stiff right hand.
Ventura is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Ventura throws a wild body kick that Brock sees coming a mile off.
Brock shoots for a double leg takedown but Ventura sprawls well. He's pushed Brock's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ventura connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

and Ventura counters with a crisp right hand that drops Brock! Ventura lets Brock back up to his feet, looking for a finish!

Ventura throws a sloppy head kick and Brock moves out of range easily.

Brock changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ventura tries to avoid it but Brock manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ventura to the ground. Ventura escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
It looked like Ventura wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Brock seems to have recovered his senses.

Brock closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ventura circles away.

Brock gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Ventura gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Brock is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
