PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight kickboxing rules bout between Max Gross (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lambert George (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). George has chosen Ca fait mal as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
George fails in his attempt to clinch.
Gross has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Breakdown Club in the buildup to the fight.
Gross loads up on a big right hand but George slips the punch.
George tries to counter by closing the distance.

The fighters circling - Gross throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
George tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Gross manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
George swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Gross.
Lambert George seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
George takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Gross throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
George is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Oh Gross is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

George closes the distance and catches Gross with a lead hook that drops him to the canvas! Gross is clearly dazed and struggling here! 3,4,5,6,7 and Gross is up to his feet but the referee has called it off! Gross is still far too wobbly and he's not going to allow the fight to continue! George takes it!

A relieved looking Lambert George thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
