Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hans Yamato!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hannu Haapana!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Sandra Marshall and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Haapana lunges at Yamato with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Yamato's hand.
Haapana connects with a leg kick. Yamato looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Haapana feints and then cracks Yamato's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Yamato down.
Yamato shoots in for a double leg but Haapana sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Haapana fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yamato.
A slapping leg kick lands for Haapana.
Haapana has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Yamato is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Yamato shoots in but Haapana avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Haapana lands a nice leg kick that just misses Yamato's sensitive parts.
Yamato darts in looking for a takedown but Haapana gets double underhooks and turns Yamato into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hans Yamato. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice takedown defense from Haapana. No joy for Yamato on that attempt.
Haapana connects with an inside leg kick.
Haapana fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yamato.
Haapana stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Yamato takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Haapana fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Yamato.
Haapana cracks the inside of Yamato's front leg.
Haapana leaves Yamato with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Haapana scores with a punch to the head.
Hannu Haapana seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Yamato needs to keep his hands up - Haapana had a free shot at his head there.
Yamato takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Haapana swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Yamato.
Hannu Haapana is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Haapana lands a nice hook to Yamato's body. Yamato takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Haapana fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Haapana punishes Yamato's body with a nice straight punch.
Yamato shoots in for a takedown but Haapana shows good takedown defense.

Haapana connects with a looping right hand.
Yamato takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Yamato takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Haapana changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Yamato tries for a takedown but Haapana sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Yamato is breathing heavily.
Haapana lands a jab to Yamato's midsection.
Haapana lands with a hook. Yamato tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Yamato chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Haapana can pounce on him.
Haapana scores with a kick to the body.
Haapana lands a jab-cross combination.


Yamato is rocked!
Yamato takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Haapana cracks Yamato with an open hand slap.
Oh Yamato is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Haapana connects with a jab, followed by a picture perfect straight right that sends Yamato to the canvas, out cold! What a finish by Haapana!
