The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Leeuw fails with an attempt to clinch.
Uematsu appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Uematsu checks a leg kick nicely.
Uematsu connects with a nice looking jab.
De Leeuw lands a right hook to the body.
Uematsu connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed De Leeuw momentarily.
Uematsu takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Uematsu swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Uematsu scores with a decent looking hook.
Uematsu on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
De Leeuw throws a head kick that misses
and Uematsu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
De Leeuw misses with a lunging right hand
and Uematsu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Uematsu throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
De Leeuw misses with a double jab.
Nando De Leeuw seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Uematsu looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Uematsu sets himself, and De Leeuw steps forward looking for the clinch! Uematsu avoids it this time.
Uematsu throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

and Uematsu counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps De Leeuw thinking.
Uematsu throws a series of punches but De Leeuw avoids them all with ease.

It looks like Hironobu Uematsu has been cut.
De Leeuw fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Uematsu checks it well.
Uematsu cracks De Leeuw with a good jab.
De Leeuw is rocked!
Uematsu lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens De Leeuw up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Uematsu from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw De Leeuw 's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Hironobu Uematsu!
