PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tommaso Baroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Red Belt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Belt has chosen Dance of the Knights as his entrance music. Red Belt told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Baroni gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Baroni uses the ropes to get back to his feet.
Baroni connects with a solid leg kick.

Belt tries to keep at a distance but Baroni has taken the fight into the clinch.
Belt tries for a takedown but Baroni manages to get underhooks.
Belt is working for a takedown up against the ropes. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Belt misses with the head strike.
Baroni misses with a short punch on the inside.
Baroni lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Red Belt has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Baroni lands with a left to the head.
Belt is trying to break the clinch but Baroni has him pressed against the ropes.
Belt jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Baroni walks away with a smile on his face. Belt gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Tommaso Baroni has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Red Belt.
Belt tries for a takedown but Baroni sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Baroni was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Belt darts in and clinches Baroni up against the ropes.

Baroni throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Belts head.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Baroni.
A nice left hand lands by Baroni.
Belt has Baroni pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Baroni manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Belt is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Baroni to keep the fight standing.
Baroni gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Belt.

Belt takes an elbow to the forehead.

Baroni breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Baroni, right into the meat.
Baroni drops a shoulder and throws an uppercut that cracks Belt right on the button. Belt goes down! Baroni follows him to the mat and finishes the job with more strikes! Baroni gets the win via TKO!
