Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rock Machine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hyun Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machine comes to the cage accompanied by Hell Yeah. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rock Machine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 28 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Hyun Sudo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sudo fails to land the takedown.

Machine closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Sudo is looking for a sweep.
Machine working away.
Machine throws a strike aimed at the side of Sudo's head but Sudo avoids it well.
Machine looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Sudo is avoiding damage well.
The strikes coming from Machine are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Machine stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Sudo gets caught napping as Machine dives in and scores a takedown. Sudo manages to retain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sudo preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Machine content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Machine is looking to work some ground and pound but Sudo has wrist control.
Machine has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Machine connects with a couple of short punches.

Machine is working Sudo over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sudo is working an open guard so Machine takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Machine seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Sudo moves into the clinch.
Sudo fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

Machine's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Good exchange - Machine coming out on top.
Machine looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sudo shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Machine defends it nicely.
Sudo showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Machine.
Sudo has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Sudo forces Machine back against the cage and clinches.
Sudo trying to land knees to the body.

Machine breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Machine lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sudo circles away quickly and effectively.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Sudo.
Rock Machine has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hyun Sudo.
Machine lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Machine blocks a jab.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Machine, as that shot connected.

Sudo pushes Machine up against the cage in a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sudo tries to land a knee to the head but Machine blocks with his arms.

Machine pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Machine scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Sudo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Sudo darts in and clinches Machine up against the cage.

Machine escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sudo clinches with his opponent.
Sudo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Machine's elbow.

Sudo breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Machine thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Sudo if he has to take too many more of those.
Sudo moves forwards but Machine connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Machine drives through with a takedown into Sudo's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machine slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Machine in side control, throwing shots but Sudo defends.
Sudo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Machine is controlling him well.
Machine lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Sudo down.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sudo wants to get back to his feet but Machine is dominant here and he's now got Sudo's back!

Machine is not going to allow Sudo to sit and survive in this position.
Sudo wants to get back to his feet.

Machine is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Sudo grimaces as he takes a shot to the body.
Machine controlling well, preventing Sudo from escaping the position.
Sudo is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Machine off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Machine cracks Sudo with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing Sudo from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.

Machine is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Sudo taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Machine.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Rock Machine!
