Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Bane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lee Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Bane could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Lee Perry's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Lucas Bane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 29 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lee Perry!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Sam Margolis and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Bane misses.
Bane lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Bane looking to score a takedown here. Perry is defending well but Bane drives through and ends up in Perry's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perry is trying to keep Bane in close.
Bane won't allow Perry to sweep him here.
Bane looking to sit in guard and control but Perry gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Bane seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Bane is adopting a defensive guard.
Perry throwing strikes from guard but Bane blocks nicely.
Perry working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Bane is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Perry trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Perry counters with a body kick.
Bane tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Perry tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Bane swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Perry cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Bane misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Perry.
Bane buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Perry has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Bane lands with a shot to the body.
Bane lands with a cross.
Bane thuds a left hand into Perry's body.
Bane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bane just misses with a punch to the body.
Bane will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Perry tries to move into range but Bane moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bane fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perry manages to avoid it.
Perry closes the distance and clinches up with Bane, looking for a takedown. Perry pushes Bane against the cage but Bane circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Perry dodges the punch combination from Bane.

Bane ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Perry moves away.
Perry scores with a nice right hand.

Bane shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Perry manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Perry looking for a guillotine here but Bane defends easily.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Perry keeping full guard, as Bane tries to pass.

Perry has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Bane is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Perry.

An elbow from Bane crashes against the mat.
Bane misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Perry tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bane wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bane is looking to take a break and control but Perry is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Perry tries to bench press Bane off him but Bane keeps the position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bane is working Perry over with some ground and pound from side control.
Perry is trying to improve his position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Bane dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Perry shoots in and drives through. Bane sprawls well.
Perry throws an overhand right that lands on Bane's shoulder, as Bane tries to avoid the shot.
Bane is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perry can do to turn this around?

Perry swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It looked like Bane wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bane tries to bum rush Perry with a series of wild strikes but Perry uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Perry drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Bane defends it well.

Bane connects with a leg kick. Perry looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Bane is looking for a sweep.

Perry wants to control but Bane is keeping him busy.

Bane is looking to regain half guard here but Perry keeps moving and retains side control.
Perry cracks Bane with a big elbow.
Perry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Perry takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Bane is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Perry looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Bane misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Bane controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bane avoids the head kick by Perry.
Bane dodges the punch combination from Perry.
A jab from Bane does it's job there.
Bane missing with a left hand there. Perry was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A jab lands there for Bane.
Lucas Bane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bane throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Perry stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Bane scores with a one two! Perry had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Bane swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Jab by Bane.
Bane feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Perrys jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!


Perry is rocked!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Bane moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Perry is still on wobbly legs! Can Bane finish him?
Perry throws a shot to the body.
Perry ducks under a wild hook from Bane.
Perry seems to have recovered his senses.
Bane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Perry scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.
Perry swings widly with a right hand

and Bane counters with a crisp right hand that drops Perry! Bane lets Perry back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Bane misses with a straight left.
Bane lands a jab to the head.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Perry.
No luck for Perry with that takedown attempt.
Bane was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Bane dominated that second round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Perry throws a poor cross that misses
and Bane makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Bane misses with a low kick.
Bane fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Perry.
Perry rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bane moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bane thinks about countering with a body kick.
Bane lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Perry uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Bane has time to react.
Perry avoids the body shot from Bane.
Bane pivots, looking for a leg kick but Perry is out of range and Bane settles back down.
Perry takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Bane closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bane is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Bane passes to side control.
Bane will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Perry is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Bane's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Perry is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Bane's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Bane's back!
Bane is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Bane trying to control but not successfully.
Lee Perry has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Perry lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
Perry doesn't have the hooks in and Bane manages to turn into his guard.

Perry looking for a guillotine here but Bane defends easily.

Bane avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bane forces his way into half guard.

Perry regains full guard. Nicely done.
Perry looking to hit a scissor sweep but Bane is one step ahead there.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Perry is on top in guard.
Perry postures up in Bane's guard and throws a big left but Bane blocks it.
Perry throws an elbow that misses. Bane uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Perry's guard. Nice move by Bane!

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
A low kick from Bane misses
and Perry counters with a stiff right hand.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
A low kick from Perry is predictable there
and Bane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Perry lands a glancing blow to the side of Bane's head.
Nice uppercut there from Bane.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Perry crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Bane - the referee stops the clock and Perry gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Bane. Perry manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Perry needs to keep his hands up - Bane had a free shot at his head there.
Bane cracks a nice hook into Perry's ribs.
Perry takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Perry pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bane lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

and Bane cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Bane keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bane lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

And that's the end of the fight!
Lucas Bane showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Bane, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
