PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ove Sundberg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corbin Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Creed's choice of entrance music: 50 Cent walks stone cold out - Patiently Waiting. Corbin Creed has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Ove Sundberg's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ove Sundberg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Corbin Creed!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Sundberg. Creed does a little dance to reset his feet.
Sundberg misses with a few strikes there.
Sundberg throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Sundberg misses with a jab, cross combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Creed! But no joy.
Creed is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Creed drops his hands momentarily and Sundberg takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head.
Creed throws a body punch but Sundberg moves out of range.
Creed throws the left hand but Sundberg avoids the punch easily.

Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sundberg, right into the meat.
Creed moves out of range of the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sundberg walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Creed fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Creed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Creed misses with a looping left.
Sundberg changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Sundberg takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Creed tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sundberg was well out of range. Poor timing from Creed.

Sundberg throws a shot from downtown. Creed moves away and avoids it.

Sundberg closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Creed to the mat! Creed manages to get full guard.
Creed bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sundberg's guard.

Sundberg tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Sundberg is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Creed throws a big elbow that misses.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Creed is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Creed wants to control from the top but Sundberg keeps moving.
Creed is stalling in the full guard.
Creed's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Creed wants to pass the guard but Sundberg is keeping the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sundberg is working hard here to advance position.
Sundberg seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Creed throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Sundberg looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Sundberg is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Creed slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Sundberg stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Creed swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Sundberg avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Creed uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Sundberg.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Sundberg wants to take a breather but Creed manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Sundberg.
Sundberg wants to control from the top but Creed keeps moving.
Creed is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Creed wants to stand but Sundberg is controlling the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Creed throws a big shot that misses.
Sundberg uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Creed.
Sundberg feinted with a counter takedown.

Sundberg is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Creed can do to turn this around?

Sundberg feints and then cracks Creed's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Creed down.

Creed connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Sundberg momentarily.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Creed enables Sundberg to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Creed manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Sundberg looking to sit in guard and control but Creed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Ove Sundberg overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Sundberg holds on and takes a little breather.
Creed stands and throws Sundberg's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A bit of a lull in the action here.
Sundberg manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Sundberg slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Creed is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Sundberg is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Sundberg has escaped and now he's on top!

Creed has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sundberg can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Sundberg sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Creed's guard.

Creed isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sundberg stacks Creed on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sundberg!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Creed is looking to reverse the position.
Corbin Creed has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Sundberg slows the pace down.

Well Sundberg has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
