The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Brigante lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Sharp has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Sharp and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Sharp uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.

Brigante really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Sharp bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Brigante's head backwards.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Brigante walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Sharp checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

Brigante takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sharp is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Brigante had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Sharp.

Brigante doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Sharp is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Brigante rather than just go for the knockout.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Sharp clips Brigante with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give Brigante a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout.

Sharp cracks Brigante with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! Brigante is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and Brigante is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9,10! He's out! Brigante could not beat the count!
