Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aldo Magetsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Mune (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 7 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aldo Magetsu!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Masa Mune!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Shigeki Sano and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mune feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Magetsus jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Magetsu throws a body kick, spinning off balance
and Mune counters with a leg kick.
Magetsu tries to move into range but Mune moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Magetsu fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Mune.
Magetsu throws a hook but Mune blocks it.
A big right from Magetsu misses.
Mune looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Mune scores with a hook.
Mune swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Magetsu counters with a left to the body.
Magetsu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.
Mune thumps Magetsu with a low kick.
Mune throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Magetsu throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Magetsu will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Mune misses the jab.

Mune shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Magetsu's guard.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Mune working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

Mune won't allow Magetsu to get back to his feet.

Mune postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Mune stands and throws Magetsu's legs to the side, diving into side control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Mune looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Mune in side control lands a decent elbow.
Magetsu has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Mune has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Mune is working Magetsu over with some ground and pound from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mune throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Mune in side control lands a decent elbow.
Magetsu is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Mune is controlling him well.

Magetsu is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Mune off and has taken his back!

Mune tries to escape but Magetsu has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Mune is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Mune turns into Magetsu and is now in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mune loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Mune wants to control from the top but Magetsu keeps moving.
Mune chips away with some ground and pound.
Mune lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Mune with a flurry of punches that miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Mune won't allow Magetsu to get back to his feet.

Magetsu pushes Mune off and scrambles back to his feet.
A lazy left from Magetsu finds it's target.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Magetsu shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Mune shoots in and drives through. Magetsu sprawls well.
Magetsu lands a jab to Mune's midsection.
Mune showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Magetsu.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Masa Mune will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action!


Magetsu has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Mune.
Mune checks a low kick from Magetsu.
Magetsu fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Mune delivers a nice body kick.

Mune shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Magetsu's guard.

Magetsu has his feet on Mune's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Mune moves out of range of the body kick.
Magetsu lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Magetsu displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Mune throws out the jab.

Good leg kick by Magetsu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Mune misses with a straight left.
Magetsu looks for the body kick but Mune saw that one coming.
Mune shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Magetsu but Magetsu pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Mune misses with a leg kick
and Magetsu counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
An inside leg kick lands from Magetsu.
Magetsu fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Magetsu keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Magetsu leaves Mune with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Aldo Magetsu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Masa Mune.
Magetsu lunges at Mune with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Mune's hand.

A cross from Magetsu lands.
Mune ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Magetsu ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Mune moves away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Magetsu gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Magetsu will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Mune seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Mune in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Mune is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Mune is in close to Magetsu's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Mune distracts Magetsu with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Magetsu is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Magetsu is looking for a sweep. Mune is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mune thows a huge punch but Magetsu dodges it nicely.
Mune throws a strike but Magetsu avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Mune stands up over Magetsu, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Mune sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Magetsu's guard.
Magetsu holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Aldo Magetsu will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Well, if Mune is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mune looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Masa Mune has got the better of the ground game so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Magetsu manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Mune keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Mune with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Mune lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Magetsu or not.

Magetsu wants to get back to striking at distance but Mune won't allow it.

Magetsu's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mune looks to land a right hand but Magetsu moved out of range.

Magetsu throws a mid kick that lands with a slap.

Thud! ouch! good body kick from Magetsu - that will leave a mark!
Mune checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Aldo Magetsu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Magetsu throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Mune.
Magetsu takes a jab right on the kisser.
Mune looks to land a combination but Magetsu avoids it well.
Mune tries a head kick but it misses.
Magetsu slaps away a takedown attempt from Mune, before circling back to the center of the mat.
It appears Magetsu was looking to counter with a kick there.
Aldo Magetsu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Magetsu throws a wild body kick that Mune sees coming a mile off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Mune thows a left - swing and a miss!
Magetsu misses with a few strikes there.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mune comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

And that's the end of the fight!
I would just about give that final round to Masa Mune.
I think Mune has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
