Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Boom Shot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfie Solomon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring each other down here, as Alfie Solomon enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Boom Shot!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alfie Solomon!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, Bruno Hogan and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Shot misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Solomon pushes off an throws an elbow but Shot leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Solomon prevents a body shot from Shot.
Solomon looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Shot swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Solomon avoiding damage as Shot throws knees to the body.
Solomon is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Shot is defending well for now.

Solomon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Solomon throws a big shot that misses.
Shot fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Shot cracks Solomon with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.


It looks like Alfie Solomon has been cut.

Shot is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at The Iron Works $800 Elite Coaches that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet.

Shot wants to stand and escape but Solomon is having none of it.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Solomon had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Shot defends it easily.

Solomon has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shot can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shot is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Boom Shot will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Alfie Solomon's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Shot throws a body punch but Solomon moves out of range.
Shot avoids the body shot from Solomon.
Shot throws a hook but Solomon blocks it.
Solomon changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Shot tries to avoid it but Solomon manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Shot to the ground. Shot escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Alfie Solomon seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shot closes the distance and pushes Solomon back into the cage.

Shot lands a right hand that snaps the head of Solomon backwards.

Shot swings wildly with an uppercut but Solomon uses good head movement to avoid it.
Boom Shot has scored more points in the clinch so far.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Solomon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Solomon tightens his grip and picks Shot up, before dumping him to the ground. Shot manages to land in guard.

Solomon postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Shot is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Solomon, into his guard.

Shot is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Solomon can do to turn this around?

Shot stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Solomon swivels though and keeps the full guard.

You can see the frustration on Solomon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Solomon can do anything to dispel that myth.
Solomon has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Shot is working away from the top position though.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

The fighters circle momentarily. Solomon darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

and Shot counters with a right hand to the body.

Shot looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Solomon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Solomon scores with a jab to the head.
Solomon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Shot connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Solomon scrambles back to his feet.

Shot rushes Solomon and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Shot struggles to land a body shot inside as Solomon controls his hands.

A nice left hand lands by Shot.
Shot misses with a hook to the ribs.
Shot makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

A right handed body shot lands from Shot.
Shot lands with a short head shot on the inside.
Shot unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Solomon! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Shot is unloading with more strikes now! Solomon drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:47 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Boom Shot!
