The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonzalez dives in for a single leg takedown but Kaleoikaikaokalani sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gonzalez uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Kaleoikaikaokalani.
Kaleoikaikaokalani slaps away a takedown attempt from Gonzalez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
We've been hearing reports that Gonzalez has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.
Kaleoikaikaokalani throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Gonzalez sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Gonzalez shoots in looking for a takedown. Kaleoikaikaokalani tries to sprawl out of it but Gonzalez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kaleoikaikaokalani manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
