The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marley throws out a loose jab but Barbosa uses good head movement to avoid it.

Marley wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Good leg kick by Barbosa there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Barbosa loads up on a big right hand but Marley slips the punch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Marley looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Barbosa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Marley tries to score a power double leg takedown but Barbosa sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marley somewhat.

Barbosa fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Marley has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Marley working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.

Marley lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Alfredo Barbosa tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
