Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Johan Nickson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Roofer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nickson comes to the cage accompanied by Flybanger - Cavalry. Roofer has chosen Jonesmann Feat. Azad - Der Soldat James Rhyme as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Nickson blocks the leg kick.
Roofer throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Nickson sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Roofer fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Nickson.
Nickson throws a head kick that misses
and Roofer counters with a right hand to the body.
Nickson buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Roofer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A solid body kick from Nickson.
Roofer takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
Roofer tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nickson seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Roofer lands a head shot.
Roofer throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Roofer tried to score with a low kick but Nickson checks it.

We've been informed that Roofer has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Nickson uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Roofer.

Nickson tries a head kick but it misses.
Roofer misses with a hook.
As Roofer looks to move away, Nickson throws a big counter combo bu Roofer just gets out of the way.

and Roofer counters with a nice leg kick.

The fighters circling - Nickson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Roofer misses the shot to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Nickson tries to score with a low kick but Roofer moves his leg out of the way.
Nickson lands with a kick to the temple. Roofer shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Nickson has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Nickson there as he acknowledges the shot.
Nickson pivots, looking for a leg kick but Roofer is out of range and Nickson settles back down.
A low kick from Nickson misses
enabling Roofer to counter with a crisp jab.
Nickson walks into a stiff left hand from Roofer.
Nickson takes a jab right on the kisser.
Nickson throws a nice looking combination but Roofer bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nickson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nickson misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Nickson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Sloppy strikes from Nickson. Those never looked like landing.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Roofer.
Roofer checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Roofer! But no joy.
Roofer drops Nickson with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Nickson looks back up at him and smiles so Roofer waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
Nickson is rocked!
BOOM! Roofer lands a beautiful left hook that drops Nickson. Nickson tries to recover but Roofer is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Nickson lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ben Roofer!
After winning the bout, Ben Roofer thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
