PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abi Tural (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pithe Canthropus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Canthropus has chosen Pizzaman - Trippin' On Sunshine as his entrance music. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abi Tural!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 37 - 30 - 2, fighting out of London, Pithe Canthropus!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Donatello Bradman and Damien Edna.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tural looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Canthropus jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Canthropus pivots, looking for a leg kick but Tural is out of range and Canthropus settles back down.
Canthropus ducks under a wild hook from Tural.
Canthropus is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Tural throws a leg kick which misses Canthropus's front leg but catches the back leg as Canthropus tries to avoid it.
Tural tries to close the distance and clinch but Canthropus swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Canthropus feints a counter leg kick.
Pithe Canthropus seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Canthropus chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Tural can pounce on him.
Tural fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Canthropus misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tural.
Canthropus shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Tural lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Canthropus goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tural attempts a counter takedown but Canthropus avoids it well and moves away.
Canthropus fails with the takedown.
Tural takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Canthropus buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tural bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Canthropus moves out of range as Tural strikes.

Tural misses with a hook. Canthropus ducked under it nicely.
Tural misses with a series of wild punches.
Canthropus throws a body punch but Tural moves out of range.
An attempted straight right counter from Tural misses the target.
Tural blocks a head kick by Canthropus.
Canthropus throws a hook but Tural avoids it easily.
Canthropus looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Tural tries to counter with a takedown but Canthropus is quick to defend against it.
Tural takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Canthropus thows a leg kick but Tural checks it

and Tural counters with a crisp one two that drops Canthropus! Tural thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Canthropus to his feet! Canthropus is in big trouble!

Canthropus is still on wobbly legs! Can Tural finish him?

Tural lands an elbow inside.

It looks like Pithe Canthropus has been cut.
Tural has Canthropus pressed against the cage. He pushes Canthropus back and as he springs towards him off the cage, Tural throws a beautiful elbow that sends Canthropus crashing to the floor! Tural piles on the pressure with more strikes! Canthropus is flailing away but he's not defending himself and the referee steps in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Abi Tural!
Our winner, Abi Tural, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
Pithe Canthropus spoke after the fight, saying 'Crap. I lost. That sucks.'.
