The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ashton closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Solo's guard.
Ashton trying to control the position from guard on top but Solo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ashton won't allow Solo to sweep him here.
Ashton has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Solo working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ashton doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ashton manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Ashton is posturing up here but Solo has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Ashton tries to roll out but it's too tight and Ashton has to tap! Slick submission there by Solo!
