PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Da Skrumbo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Junior Jawo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skrumbo 's entrance music is It's a fight!!. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

With a record of 12 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Junior Jawo!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Jeff Smith and Roger Salmon.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jawo takes one to the side of the head.
Skrumbo waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Jawo.
Skrumbo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jawo.
Skrumbo just misses with a punch to the body.
Skrumbo scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Jawo doesn't seem bothered though.

and Jawo counters with a shoot takedown. Skrumbo fights it but they end up in guard.
Jawo trying to move into half guard but instead Skrumbo has managed to sweep!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jawo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Skrumbo stands up and waves to Jawo to follow him.
Da Skrumbo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Skrumbo throws a jab when Jawo was well out of range.
Skrumbo scores with a shot to the body.
Skrumbo definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Skrumbo misses the shot to the body.
A big right from Skrumbo misses.
Jawo with the counter takedown but Skrumbo avoids it easily.
Skrumbo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Skrumbo wants it to stay on the feet.
Skrumbo connects with a nice looking jab.

It looks like Junior Jawo has been cut.
Jawo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Skrumbo finds it's way round the side to connect with Jawo's head.

Jawo is rocked!
Da Skrumbo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jawo with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Skrumbo to score with a decent uppercut.
Jawo is still on wobbly legs! Can Skrumbo finish him?
Jawo throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Skrumbo 's waist but Skrumbo gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Jawo off to one side.
Da Skrumbo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Junior Jawo.
Skrumbo connects with a body shot that sends Jawo's belly button to the back.
Jawo fails to land the takedown.
Jawo avoids the body shot from Skrumbo .

Jawo throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Skrumbo tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jawo is in Skrumbo 's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Skrumbo pulls Jawo in close to prevent any damage.
Jawo seems to have recovered his senses.
Skrumbo is trying to control the position but Jawo postures up.

Skrumbo has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Jawo has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Skrumbo really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Skrumbo scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Jawo tries to pull guard but Skrumbo forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Jawo jumps guard.

Jawo has his foot on Skrumbo 's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Skrumbo works his way back into a safe position though.

Jawo throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Skrumbo escapes and throws Jawo's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Jawo is not content to let Skrumbo control the position.
Jawo avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Skrumbo .

Skrumbo decides to stand back up.

Jawo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Skrumbo is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Skrumbo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Jawo trying to control but Skrumbo is working from the bottom.
Skrumbo thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Jawo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Jawo drops back, looking for a kneebar! Skrumbo looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Skrumbo looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Skrumbo !

Skrumbo stands up and beckons Jawo to his feet.

A swing and a miss from Skrumbo .
Skrumbo is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Skrumbo throws a monster overhand right that drops Jawo! Skrumbo follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
