Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sean Sorrowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gerald Minor!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Eddie Farnsworth.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Sorrowe misses

and Minor counters by clinching up.
Minor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Minor is trying to stall.

Sorrowe escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Sloppy strikes from Sorrowe. Those never looked like landing.
Minor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Sorrowe throws a series of punches but Minor avoids them all with ease.
And Minor tries to counter it with a takedown but Sorrowe pushes his down on his head and steps out.

so Minor counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Minor looking to pass the guard.
Sorrowe is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Minor looking to sit in guard and control but Sorrowe gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.


That's one minute gone in the round.
Sorrowe sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Sorrowe stops Minor from standing up.
Minor is striking from the bottom but Sorrowe uses the opportunity to pass into half guard.

Minor is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Sorrowe pulls his head out easily.
It looks like Sorrowe is going to stand back up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Minor trying to control here.
Sorrowe controlling the pace.
Minor is trying to control but can't.
Sorrowe is taking a breather. Minor says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A right-left combo lands from Sorrowe.
Sorrowe lands a big head kick that sends Minor to the canvas! Sorrowe follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sean Sorrowe!
An out of breath Sean Sorrowe thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
