Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takakazu Nakamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Vicente Nunes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Takakazu Nakamoto!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Nakamoto.
No luck for Nunes with that takedown attempt.
Nakamoto closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nunes circles away.
Nunes went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Nunes fails with a takedown attempt.

Nunes closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Nunes breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Nunes bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nakamoto is trying to improve his position.
Nakamoto is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Nunes thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Nakamoto's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Nakamoto sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Nunes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nakamoto on the ground.
Nakamoto wants to control but Nunes is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nakamoto moves into full guard.
Nakamoto is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Nunes postures up in Nakamoto's guard and throws a big left but Nakamoto blocks it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Nakamoto wants to stand up but Nunes is controlling him.
Nunes seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Nakamoto avoids the head kick by Nunes.
Nunes works Nakamoto's body with a nice hook.
Nakamoto fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Nunes throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.

Nunes shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Nakamoto throws a right hand that Nunes ducks under and follows up with a left that Nunes also avoids with ease.
Nakamoto wants to clinch up but Nunes keeps it at a distance.
Nunes changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Nakamoto tries to avoid it but Nunes manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Nakamoto to the ground. Nakamoto escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

and Nunes counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Nunes moves into the clinch successfully.
Nakamoto has had enough of the clinch but Nunes keeps him there for the moment.
Nunes is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Nakamoto gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Nakamoto wants to control from the top but Nunes keeps moving.
Nakamoto won't allow Nunes to sweep him here.

Nakamoto is working Nunes over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Horrible takedown attempt by Nakamoto or perhaps it was just good defense by Nunes, which made it look bad.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Nakamoto stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Nakamoto wants it to stay on the feet.
Nunes shoots in for a takedown but Nakamoto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Nakamoto is trying to drag Nunes to the mat but Nunes just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Nunes is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Nakamoto can do to turn this around?

Nunes shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nakamoto but Nakamoto pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Nunes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Nunes gets control of Nakamoto's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nunes will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Nunes looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Nakamoto has picked Nunes up and slammed him! Nunes can't keep hold of the triangle and Nakamoto manages to pass to side control!
Nunes wants to get back to his feet but Nakamoto drags him back down.
Nunes tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Nakamoto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Nunes on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Nunes tries to get out of the position.
Nunes takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Nunes tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Nakamoto presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Nakamoto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Nakamoto can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nunes is looking to escape.

Nakamoto is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Nunes can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Takakazu Nakamoto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Nakamoto shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Nunes defends it nicely.
Nunes shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Nakamoto sprawls well. Nakamoto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Nunes gets slowly back to his feet.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Let's hope that Nakamoto has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Nakamoto shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nunes pinned against the cage. Nunes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Vicente Nunes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takakazu Nakamoto.

Nunes's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Nunes gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Nakamoto to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Nakamoto is pushing down on Nunes's leg trying to pass to half guard. Nunes is fighting to maintain full guard but Nakamoto has managed to sneak the leg through.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Nakamoto connects with a nice short shot to Nunes's temple.
Nunes is not content to let Nakamoto control the position.
Nunes tries to get to full guard but Nakamoto has control of the leg.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Nunes tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Nakamoto has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nunes is trying to escape the mount.

Takakazu Nakamoto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Nakamoto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
