Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Chin Checker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derek Kane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Checker comes into the arena with Time to Fight blaring out of the sound system. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Chin Checker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Derek Kane!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kane thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Checker if he has to take too many more of those.
Checker lands with a shot to the body.
Checker takes a swing at Kane's ribcage but misses.
Checker sets himself, and Kane steps forward looking for the clinch! Checker avoids it this time.
A big left from Checker misses.
Checker lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Kane at a distance.
Kane slips under a jab.
Checker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Checker - that will leave a mark!
Kane keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Checker.
Checker lands a jab-cross combination.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Kane throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Checker throws a series of punches but Kane moves out of range.
Kane shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Checker counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Checker lands a really nice looking cross but Kane seems unphased.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kane slips under a jab from Checker.

Checker gets caught flat footed, as Kane shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Checker wants to stand and escape but Kane is having none of it.
Kane postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kane throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kane is pushing down on Checker's leg trying to pass to half guard. Checker is fighting to maintain full guard but Kane has managed to sneak the leg through.
Checker knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Kane on the ground.

Kane is working for a submission of some sort.
Checker is not content to let Kane control the position.
Kane might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Checker haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kane prevents Checker from improving his position.
Kane is looking to advance position but Checker won't allow it.
Kane thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Checker's head.
Kane sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Checker defending well though.
Kane prevents Checker from standing back up.
Kane content to control rather than advance.
Kane wants to free his trapped foot but Checker is holding on for dear life with his legs.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kane is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Some wild striking there from Checker.
Kane takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Checker gets tackled into the cage by Kane. Kane maintains the clinch.
Checker has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Kane is looking to take this one to the mat.
Kane is pushing Checker up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Kane with an attempt at a knee that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Checker breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Checker lands a left and a right that send Kane crashing to the mat, dazed. Checker thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!


Kane is rocked!


It looks like Derek Kane has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Checker throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Kane is still on wobbly legs! Can Checker finish him?
Kane tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Checker paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Checker throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Checker swinging wildly here.
Checker sets himself, and Kane steps forward looking for the clinch! Checker avoids it this time.
Checker ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kane moves away.
Kane seems to have recovered his senses.
Checker throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Kane steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Checker.
Kane tries to clinch but Checker moves out of range.
Checker listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Kane blocks a head kick by Checker.
Chin Checker is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Kane throws a quick inside leg kick.

Kane gets a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Chin Checker dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Derek Kane's cut.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Checker scores with a hook.
Checker swings for the body but Kane moves out of range.
Kane checks a leg kick nicely.
Checker uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Kane has time to react.
Chin Checker is winning the standup battle so far.
Checker is throwing a storm of strikes! Right hook, left hook and follows it up with a spinning back fist! Kane hits the canvas like a rag doll! And just like that, this one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:23 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Chin Checker!
Chin Checker tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
