Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Zarek Reschke (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Johnny Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 2, fighting out of Sydney, Zarek Reschke!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Johnny Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A good leg kick by Reschke.
Reschke keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hendricks is looking to slow Reschke down with leg kicks.
Reschke lands a jab to the head.
Hendricks connects with a solid leg kick.
Hendricks moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Reschke is looking to score with low kicks.
Reschke tries a head kick but it misses.
Hendricks shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Hendricks has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Reschke defending well as Hendricks loads up on a big left hand.
Reschke tries to close the distance and clinch up but Hendricks swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Reschke is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Hendricks.

Hendricks clobbers Reschke with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Hendricks's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Reschke connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Hendricks scrambles back to his feet.

Hendricks bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Reschke's head.

Hendricks doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
Reschke takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Hendricks displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Reschke throws out the jab.

Hendricks shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reschke as he avoids it easily.
As Hendricks looks to move away, Reschke throws a big counter combo bu Hendricks just gets out of the way.
Hendricks throws a wild body kick that Reschke sees coming a mile off.
Reschke throws a low kick, looking for Hendricks's leg but Hendricks calmly moves out of range.

Hendricks bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Hendricks throws an elbow but Reschke slips to the side and avoids it well.
Hendricks postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Hendricks wants to control but Reschke is keeping him busy.

Reschke tries to buck Hendricks off but Hendricks is having none of it.

Hendricks tries for a kimura but Reschke is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hendricks has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Reschke knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Hendricks on the ground.
Reschke has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hendricks is working away from the top position though.
Hendricks prevents Reschke from standing back up.

BOOM! Hendricks connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Reschke tries to reverse the position but Hendricks maintains control.
