PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Genesis Piper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Etsu Kamon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Piper comes to the ring accompanied by Ride Out-Kid Ink, Tyga. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Genesis Piper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Etsu Kamon!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Kenichi Hosakawa and Shigeki Sano.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Piper leaves Kamon with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Piper misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Kamon.
Piper cracks Kamon with a good jab.

It looks like Etsu Kamon has been cut.
Kamon's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Piper connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kamon scrambles back to his feet.
We've been told by Piper's head coaches at Ultimate MMA Training Center that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Piper swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Kamon counters with a single leg into guard. Piper didn't expect that.

Piper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kamon is aware though and is defending well.

Kamon trying to control the position from guard on top but Piper is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kamon might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Piper haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Piper is on top in guard.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Piper passes into half guard.
Kamon flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kamon tries to get to full guard but Piper has control of the leg.
Piper works his foot free and advances to mount.
Piper wants to stand but Kamon is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Piper scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Kamon?

Kamon can't escape the position.

Piper working for a submission but Kamon is keeping him at bay.
Piper wants to control the pace but Kamon is squirming around nicely.
Kamon wants to hold on but Piper pushes him away.
Kamon is trying desperately to improve position.
Piper trying to control but Kamon is having none of it.
Kamon is looking to get to half guard.
Kamon is still trying to improve position.

Piper takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That has opened up Etsu Kamon's cut even more.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Etsu Kamon's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
