The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Söderlund scores with a jab.
Mats Söderlund seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Aurelio tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
A head kick misses from Söderlund.
Aurelio tries to counter with a takedown but Söderlund is quick to defend against it.
Söderlund is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aurelio.
Aurelio feinted with a counter takedown.
Aurelio moves out of range as Söderlund strikes.
Söderlund looks to throw the jab but Aurelio is out of range.
Aurelio avoids the body shot from Söderlund.
Söderlund has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Aurelio connects with an inside leg kick.
Söderlund ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aurelio moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aurelio misses with a jab, cross combination.

Söderlund thuds his shin into the meat of Aurelio's side.

Aurelio goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Aurelio shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Söderlund as he jumps to the side.

It looks like Marcelo Aurelio has been cut.

Aurelio takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Aurelio tries to counter with a takedown but Söderlund is quick to defend against it.
Söderlund dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Aurelio looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Aurelio looks to score with a jab to the body but Söderlund is just out of range.
Aurelio moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Söderlund lands a big head kick that sends Aurelio tumbling to the mat! Söderlund takes a step backwards and waves Aurelio back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Söderlund swings for the body but Aurelio moves out of range.
Aurelio bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Aurelio doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Söderlund counters with a huge left! Aurelio is in big trouble! He's backing up but Söderlund isn't giving him chance to recover. Under a barage of punches the ref has to step in to save Aurelio from any more damage. A dominating finish by Söderlund!
