The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rijal does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Rijal tries to score a power double leg takedown but Elpidio sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rijal somewhat.
Elpidio swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

and Elpidio counters with a nice uppercut.
Ram Man Rijal seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Elpidio scores with a punch to the head.
Rijal connects with a solid leg kick.
Rijal blocks a jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Elpidio throws a lazy right hand but Rijal sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Elpidio stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Rijal.
Rijal fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Elpidio.
Rijal lands a jab to Elpidio's midsection.
Elpidio is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Rijal tries to close the distance and clinch but Elpidio swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

enabling Elpidio to counter with a crisp jab.

Elpidio ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Rijal tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Elpidio manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Elpidio checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
It looked like Elpidio wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Elpidio swats away the attempt to clinch by Rijal.
Rijal tries to clinch up.
Elpidio connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Rijal is still on wobbly legs! Can Elpidio finish him?

and Elpidio counters with a beautiful right hand that knocks Rijal out cold! What a finish! Elpidio is going crazy, running around the mat, summersaulting off the corner posts and screaming into the cameras. Something tells me he's pretty happy!
