Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Timpurhkhum Chouncheun (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonatan Jose (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chouncheun kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is พิณบรรเลง. Jonatan Jose has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Timpurhkhum Chouncheun!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jonatan Jose!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Kenichi Hosakawa and Ren Mimura.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chouncheun scores with a kick to the body.
Chouncheun tried to score with a low kick but Jose checks it.
Jose looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Jose closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Chouncheun swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jose.
Jose takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Chouncheun is looking to slow Jose down with leg kicks.
Chouncheun jabs at Jose's body.
Chouncheun lands with a kick to the ribs.
Chouncheun lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
Jose misses with a few strikes there.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jose fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chouncheun avoids it really well and circles away.

Jose shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chouncheun as he avoids it easily.
Timpurhkhum Chouncheun has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jonatan Jose.
Chouncheun throws the kick towards the body but Jose avoids it.
Jose moves out of range as Chouncheun throws a body kick.
Chouncheun lands a nice looking kick to the body. Jose takes a step back to recover.
Chouncheun tries to land a front kick but Jose steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Chouncheun pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
The fighters circling - Jose throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Jose avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jose has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Jose throws a looping overhand right but Chouncheun ducks down to avoid it.
Jose darts in looking for a takedown but Chouncheun gets double underhooks and turns Jose into the cage.
Jose shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Chouncheun counters with a straight right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Chouncheun scores with a head kick. Jose tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Timpurhkhum Chouncheun seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chouncheun lands a front kick.
Chouncheun is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Chouncheun connects with a solid leg kick.
Chouncheun lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Jose circles away from the clinch attempt.
Jose throws a left and a right that both miss
and Jose takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Donk. Chouncheun catches Jose right on the button with a cross.
Jose shoots in looking for a takedown but Chouncheun manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jose's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Timpurhkhum Chouncheun is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A low kick from Chouncheun is predictable there

and Jose counters with a shoot takedown. Chouncheun fights it but they end up in guard.
Chouncheun manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jose manages to get himself to full guard.


Jose had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chouncheun defends it easily.

Chouncheun's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Jose escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chouncheun gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chouncheun will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Chouncheun not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Chouncheun loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


A decent looking body kick lands there for Chouncheun.
Chouncheun lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
Jose throws a big shot that misses.
Chouncheun throws a quick inside leg kick.

Jose throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Chouncheun was covering up waiting for the punch and Jose finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jose throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Chouncheun works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jose keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Chouncheun's head.
Jose must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Jose slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jose looking to sit in guard and control but Chouncheun gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Jose is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Chouncheun keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jose's head.

Jose is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Chouncheun stays in close to Jose's body and controls the position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jose has an active guard here but Chouncheun has managed to pass into half guard.
Chouncheun is figuring out what he wants to do next.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Jose is wriggling around trying to escape.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Jose shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Chouncheun as he avoids it easily.

Jose throws a right hand that Chouncheun ducks under and follows up with a left that Chouncheun also avoids with ease.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Jose! But no joy.

Jose on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.

Chouncheun thumps Jose with a low kick.
Chouncheun throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Jose walks into a jab.
Jose takes a swing at Chouncheun's ribcage but misses.
Chouncheun is looking to counter punch.
Chouncheun is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Chouncheun plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Jose's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.
Chouncheun throws a hook to the side of Jose's head but Jose sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Chouncheun is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jose.
Jose chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chouncheun can pounce on him.
Jonatan Jose is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

A nice leg kick lands there from Chouncheun.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Chouncheun's corner calls for a 1-2. Chouncheun obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.


Jose is rocked!
Jose gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Chouncheun gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:37 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Timpurhkhum Chouncheun!
A relieved looking Timpurhkhum Chouncheun thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
