Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Yoshio Yamamoto!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tony Ramos !
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Steve Montenegro and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ramos fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Yamamoto sprawls well initially but Ramos persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Ramos drops an elbow to the side of Yamamoto's head.
Ramos thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Yamamoto's head.

Ramos missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Yamamoto tries to get to full guard but Ramos has control of the leg.
Ramos throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Yamamoto has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Ramos lands with a punch from half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ramos works his foot free and advances to mount.

Yamamoto is in a horrible position here. Ramos smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Yamamoto is rocked!
Ramos has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Yamamoto tries to lock up and control but Ramos gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Oh Yamamoto is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Ramos has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Yamamoto's face.
Ramos breaks from Yamamoto's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Ramos is in full mount looking to finish with strikes. He lands a big shot, followed by another and Yamamoto goes limp! The ref jumps in to end the fight - a big win for Ramos !

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Tony Ramos !
Tony Ramos is the new featherweight champion!
