The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Taro Takaoka and Yasuomi Hirokawa.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malverde throws a nice looking combination but McLaren bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
McLaren throws a low kick, looking for Malverde's leg but Malverde calmly moves out of range.
McLaren looking to land some kicks to the body here.
McLaren swings away with a leg kick that misses.
McLaren smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Malverde moves into the clinch successfully.
Malverde tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and McLaren avoids it.

McLaren has hold of one of Malverde's legs. Malverde is fighting the takedown attempt but McLaren gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Malverde has his foot on McLaren's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. McLaren works his way back into a safe position though.
McLaren postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McLaren trying to control the position from guard on top but Malverde is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

McLaren trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Malverde trying to keep a closed guard but McLaren is proving a slippery customer.

McLaren is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Malverde is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Malverde has escaped and now he's on top!

McLaren is looking for a triangle but Malverde pushes his legs off easily.

McLaren has his feet on Malverde's thighs here. He's pushed Malverde off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Malverde screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
